Gateway Management

LORIOT Managed Gateway Service

Gateway Management

Proactive monitoring, guaranteed uptime and peak performance for your IoT network, without the operational burden.

Every IoT deployment is only as reliable as the gateways that carry its data. Yet for most organizations, keeping these gateways running means sourcing hardware, configuring SIM cards, dispatching technicians to remote sites, managing spare stock, and troubleshooting failures, often only after data has already been lost. What should be a background utility quickly becomes a drain on internal IT and field teams.

The LORIOT Managed Gateway Service changes this. It separates the physical management and maintenance of your IoT infrastructure from your internal IT operations. By combining zero-touch deployment, multi-carrier cellular connectivity, VPN, 24/7 NOC monitoring with the LORIOT Edge Agent, monthly network health reporting, and a structured hardware replacement protocol, we turn demanding gateway operations into a streamlined service managed and handled by LORIOT. Your teams focus on the value of the data, while we make sure it keeps flowing.

Benefits

Shield

Guaranteed
Gateway Uptime

Our service levels protect mission-critical data streams across industrial, logistics, smart city and energy deployments. Continuous monitoring and a defined restoration process maximize network uptime and minimize critical data loss.

Money

Optimized
Cost of Ownership

Logistics, local stock management and configuration overhead move from your team to LORIOT. Thanks to our scale and established processes, you reduce the cost of your local technical team while keeping full visibility over your network.

Chart

Predictable, Data-Driven
Operations

The service is billed as a simple monthly operational expense, which helps preserve capital budgets while giving you enterprise-grade management. Structured monthly reports turn gateway performance into the data you need for informed operational decisions.

➤ Plug-and-play from day one: Gateways arrive pre-configured and already registered to your LORIOT Network Server account. Just power them on and they connect, with no in-house hardware friction and far fewer on-site interventions.

How it works?

  1. FULFILLMENT & PRE-PROVISIONING

We prepare each gateway before it ever leaves our hands. Every unit is equipped with a pre-activated, multi-carrier roaming SIM card, VPN access and registered directly to your LORIOT Network Server account. Thanks to non-steered connectivity, the gateway automatically attaches to the strongest major cellular carrier available on site, which maximizes coverage resilience. On arrival, installation is truly plug-and-play.
  2. 24/7 NETWORK OPERATIONS CENTER

Once live, your gateways are monitored 24/7/365 by LORIOT's internal support process. Using the LORIOT Edge Agent, our NOC tracks live hardware telemetry such as CPU load, RAM utilization and LoRaWAN® radio usage. This lets us detect anomalies early, often before they affect your data.
  3. INCIDENT RESOLUTION & HEALTH REPORTING

When a gateway stops sending its heartbeat, an automated alert immediately creates a ticket and our support team starts a remote investigation. If remote recovery fails and a hardware fault is confirmed, the replacement workflow begins: an RMA is triggered, a pre-provisioned clone unit is dispatched, and the gateway re-joins the network with data synchronization and validation completed.

Each month, you receive a network health report covering availability percentages, SLA adherence logs, cellular RSSI and latency stability trends, and historical maintenance events.

“A single offline gateway can silence hundreds of sensors, yet most organizations still have to manage this infrastructure alone. With the Managed Gateway Service, our clients can stop worrying about infrastructure and focus on the value of their data.”

FAQ

  • Do I need to buy new gateways to use the service?
Not necessarily. The one-time hardware and configuration setup is optional. If you choose it, we supply an authorized gateway of your choice, fully pre-configured and ready to deploy.
  • What happens if a gateway fails?
A loss of heartbeat automatically triggers an alert and a support ticket. Our team first tries to recover the gateway remotely. If a hardware failure is confirmed, we start the replacement workflow and ship a pre-provisioned clone unit that simply needs to be plugged in to restore service.
  • What if I cannot afford to wait for a replacement unit?
For sites where every hour counts, you can choose a "cold standby" inventory model. A spare, pre-provisioned unit is kept ready for immediate restoration instead of waiting for Next Business Day dispatch.
  • Is cellular coverage required at my sites?
The gateways use cellular connectivity for their backhaul. Because the multi-carrier SIM is non-steered, the gateway is not tied to a single operator and automatically connects to the strongest major carrier available, which gives you the best possible coverage at each location.
  • How much does the service cost?
The service is designed to scale with your network. Connectivity and managed operations are billed per gateway per month, with volume-based pricing that becomes more cost-efficient as your deployment grows. For networks of more than 1,000 gateways, we offer personalized enterprise contract pricing. Contact us for a detailed quote.
  • Which verticals is the service suited for?
Any deployment where data continuity matters. The service is designed for mission-critical data streams in industrial, logistics, smart city and energy applications, among others.
