C/C++ Software Engineer
Valencia, Spain or Budapest, Hungary

We are on the quest to find a new team member for our team in Valencia,
who will be responsible for engineering of our back-end and embedded C/C++ software products.

We, LORIOT, are a young Swiss company building the future of the Internet of Things.

Basic requirements rather standard

  • Engineering background
  • Systematic, analytical thinking
  • C, C++, bash, gdb
  • Linux & embedded linux knowledge (console, bash, kernel, monitoring, profiling, debugging)
  • Multi-platform cross-compilation
  • Distributed messaging (MQTT, AMQP)
  • Security (OpenSSL, TLS, AES, Diffie-Hellman, symmetric / assymetric cryptography)
  • Sound understanding of web services (WebSockets, HTTP)
  • Sound knowledge of network protocols (IP, TCP, DNS, NTP)

Would be great or you'll need to learn

  • LoRa & LoRaWAN
  • LTE-M, NB-IoT, SigFox, RPMA
  • Agile development (JIRA)
  • Swagger & OpenAPI
  • Lean methodology (build - measure - learn)

Who should you be apart from exceptional

  • Holder of (at least) a master's degree in Computer Science or related field, or have an equivalent (5+ years), demonstrable, relevant work experience
  • Spirited, energetic, easy-going person
  • Interested in Internet of Things, gadgets, and technology in general
  • Fluent in English, any other languages are an asset and can be put to good use

We expect you to do your best

  • Develop our C / C++ based products
  • Design and prototype new software components and features
  • Implement scripts for cross-platform compatibility
  • Test your code with heterogenous hardware platforms
  • Support internal team and external support teams who use the software
  • Produce detailed, platform-specific technical documentation
  • Work closely with the CTO on key architecture and strategic decisions
  • Lead innovation efforts and continuously improve processes and operations
  • Professionally report to management
  • Play active role in the agile development team
  • Assess feasibility of projects and customer requirements
  • Work with quality assurance and operations team to assure optimal delivery and availabilty of our services
  • Review customer feedback
  • Peer-review source code
